Year 6
Year 6 is a memorable and rewarding culmination of pupils’ time in the Upper Juniors, combining high academic expectations with increasing leadership, responsibility and independence. Alongside focused preparation for SATs, pupils are supported to achieve their best across the curriculum and make a confident transition to our Senior Department. Their learning in subjects such as Spanish, music, sport and the creative arts continues alongside the strong academic focus, ensuring pupils leave as well-rounded, kind and curious young people with a lasting love of learning.
Leadership is central to the Year 6 experience. Pupils can stand for election as Junior Leaders, take on a range of positions of responsibility and become positive role models for younger pupils across the school.
A rich programme of enrichment includes visits to Milestones Museum and Henley Fort, alongside a four-night residential to the Isle of Wight. The much-anticipated Year 6 Show provides a fitting finale, bringing together music, drama and performance in an ambitious production prepared and performed to an exceptionally high standard, giving every pupil the opportunity to contribute, shine and create lasting memories of their time in the Upper Juniors.
