Year 5
In Year 5, pupils embrace increasing academic challenge as they prepare for the final stages of their Upper Junior journey. There is a strong focus on developing fluency, confidence and depth of understanding in English and mathematics, alongside building secure and increasingly sophisticated knowledge across the wider curriculum. Pupils continue to develop their language skills in Spanish and benefit from a broad range of sporting, musical and creative opportunities. They are encouraged to become independent, resilient learners who take pride in their work and are ambitious for themselves. Enrichment includes Reed’s School Car Challenge and a memorable Tudor Feast. The two-night residential to Calshot Activity Centre is another highlight, providing opportunities for teamwork, physical challenge and the confidence to try activities beyond their comfort zones.
