Year 4

Year 4 builds on these foundations as pupils develop greater independence, resilience and confidence as learners. A key academic priority is securing fluent recall of multiplication tables in preparation for the statutory Multiplication Tables Check in June. This essential knowledge supports pupils in accessing increasingly complex mathematics in Years 5 and 6, while Times Tables Rock Stars makes regular practice purposeful and engaging, culminating in our much-loved Rock Stars Day. Pupils continue to broaden their knowledge across the curriculum, including in Spanish, music and physical education. A significant milestone is their first overnight residential at Walton Firs, where camping, physical challenges and team-building activities encourage cooperation, resilience and independence. Pupils also visit Fishbourne Roman Palace, bringing their historical learning vividly to life.
